Welcome to the beginning of the SLOW community cookbook!

I recently shared on instagram about my Mum’s old cookbook which is dog eared and covered in batter from so much use over many years. The book itself holds many recipes that have become family favourites.

I put the call out on Instagram to see if people wanted to send in their own tried and tested household recipes, (you know the ones you go back to time and time again) and we can share them over the next few issues of SLOW and when we have around 80 - 100 recipes we can create a big old hardcover community cookbook!

With a resounding YES (You guys are amazing!) Here are the first steps to getting your favourite recipes out into the homes of so many like minded folk!

xx

Guidelines

  1. Recipes should be much loved, wholesome and healthy(ish).

  2. Measurements should use the metric system (cups, grams, degrees Celsius etc)

  3. Ideally the recipe should be accompanied with a high res photo of either the ingredients, the cooking in progress or the finished product in either portrait or landscape. (I’ve included some inspiration below). If you’re not confident with photos, and have no handy photographer friends I suggest keeping it simple, or we may be able to take some on your behalf when we make the recipe).

  4. Credit will be given to all submissions and photographers.

  5. Email you recipe and any imagery through to Jane at hello@theslowjournal.com with the word ‘Recipe’ in the subject line.
